@Stefan-de-Lange , @Uta I am referring to the device’s RSSI and SNR. I want to be able to check signal quality, as I have some experimental asset trackers with GPS that I am currently testing with.

With LoRaWAN devices, I found it very convenient that all kinds of additional “network”-information was available in the MQTT response (JSON) from the API.

As stated above, we will implement eDRX for LTE-M beginning of next year, but we cannot tell you exactly when right now (our current target is Q1 2021). As far as we know, most of the other European LTE-M operators haven’t yet enabled eDRX neither, but also plan to deploy it next year. eDRX does not exist in 2G, only in LTE, and deployed primarily (if not exclusively) in its Low-Power Wide-Area categories (i.e. LTE-M and NB-IoT). PSM is supported in all of DT’s LTE-M networks as well as in all of our roaming partner networks. Like eDRX, PSM has only been standardized in LTE networks and is not available for 2G.

Looks like I overpromised here… I am very sorry.

Last year we’ve been discussing the upgrade of our Service Capability Server many times internally. And initially the installation of the generic CoAP adapter was part of the overall upgrade plan in each of these discussions.

However, for some reason it was deprioritized when we started the upgrade.

The upgrade will be finished in April and bring along new protocols as MQTT and LWM2M but unfortunately not generic CoAP.

Tagging my colleagues @Roalnd-Baldin and @Saher-Salem to see if we can come up with a new timeline.

@Roalnd-Baldin Has this been rolled out already? Do you have any idea when we can expect it? Thanks in advance!

Thanks a lot for the feedback and I’m glad to see eDRX is delivering its promise on energy saving!
Another tip maybe: please consider setting your preferred Periodic TAU Timer to save further energy.
This can be done without setting any PSM activity timer with the CPSMS command, with a TAU-timer of up to 310 hours.
To enable Long-Periodic TAU without PSM, use value “11100000” for parameter <Requested_Active-Time>.

This feature is currently not supported from the vendor and hence won’t be available this year. Unfortunately I have no exact date for now when it’ll be available.
I’m keen to know more about customer prespective on Rel. 14. Could you please let me know more about your interest in this feature? is it relevant to a use case you are developing?

Deutsche Telekom is working intensively alongside standardization bodies such as 3GPP and GSMA. 3GPP Rel 13 specifications have been finalized in June 2016, Rel. 14 in June 2017. The respective features will be subsequently implemented into devices and networks.
