concerning LTE-Cat.M1:- When will Cat.M1 be rolled out in Germany?
- When will Cat.M1 be available in the Rhein-Main region (espacially in 55252 Mainz-Kastel)?
- Will Cat.M1 be rolled out across the whole country, or only in cities?
Best regards, Thomas

Hi Alfons, Hi Thomas,
I have the pleasure to announce that LTE-M is now available in Germany throughout the country.
Please take a look at https://t-map.telekom.de/tmap2/mobileiot for a detailed view of our coverage map, as well as at https://iot.telekom.com/ for the available pre-paid offerings.Looking forward to getting your return of experience on our brand new IoT network!
Kind regards,

@Ronan-Lacroix Hi Ronan, thats great news!
Are there special SIM cards required to access the network or do “normal” LTE SIM Cards work as well?Best regards
Alfons -
Hi Alfons,
We of course recommend our IoT SIM cards and their tailored IoT tariffs, but for test purpose, you may also use a “standard” consumer DT SIM-card.
Both SIM materials will provide you with full access to our LTE-M network, including its power-saving features (PSM and Long-Periodic TAU initially).Best,
Ronan -
Hi Ronan, thanks for the fast feedback! W’ll try…

Nice! Did you issue a press release? Or more info somewhere?

Hi Stefan,
A press release should be issued soon, and more information about the network features and benefits will be posted on this forum in the weeks to come.

@Ronan-Lacroix Thanks! Great job

Hi Ronan,
we’ll start testing this days here in Munich. Is there a special APN required?
Best regards
Alfons -
@apuhl , with a classic M2M GSIM (IMSI starting with 90140), you may use the standard APN “internet.m2mportal.de”, with a Consumer SIM card (starting with 26201), it should be “internet.telekom.de”.
Best,
Ronan
